Right Behind
They thought they left the earth behind, but something evil followed Right Behind.
When the “good” people of Earth disappear in the Rapture, selfishly leaving millions of evil denizens and non-believers without critical goods and services, a group of disgruntled heavy metal musicians sneak into Heaven right behind them to play practical jokes on the saved in this wacky religious comedy from the creative team behind The Vault and various talking dog movies. Ozzy Osbourne stars as Lars Kevorkian, an aging rock star who finds himself abandoned on a 747 when his entourage and pilot mysterious disappear. Crash landing in Detroit, he quickly learns the terrible truth of what has happened and assembles a daring strike force of rockers to infiltrate heaven on the backs of fallen angels. Inside the pearly gates, the rockers “raise hell” with whoopee cushions, plastic dog doo, and silly string until a former right wing radio host (Mel Gibson as the stern Preacherman Caruthers) forms a heavenly militia to cast the uninvited back to earth to die in the impending meteor storm. Only a freckled fallen angel (Lindsay Lohan) can stop the impending doom and bring order to the universe — if she can kick her crank habit first.
Right Behind features a sick ass wonderfully elegant soundtrack that brings together both Christian and Satanist performers on the same album. You will thrash with tears of glory as you listen to Amy Grant sing a ballad version of Slayer’s Reign in Blood and Marilyn Manson perform his stirring rendition of Shall We Gather at the River. Forget about that boring Left Behind Movie… this is truly the most remarkable movie that Blockbuster will never carry!
