CALLING ALL MEDIA ASSASSINS, FILM SCHOOL REJECTS, LATE NIGHT CABLE JUNKIES.
Movie 666 wants your thoughts on movies, television, web sites, video games, shopping malls, milk carton messages, and all other media. Movie 666 gets a lot of traffic, so now is your chance to tell the world why gladiator movies are homoerotic, why Rambo is a model eco-terrorist, or sing glorious love songs to Constance Towers.
Some things we are interested in: new technology, the environment, rediscovered cult masterpieces, science fiction and horror, industrial collapse, alternative political perspectives.
If you have an article or a review you would like to post on the site, please drop us a line. And please comment on our existing articles as well!
GENERAL GUIDELINES
- The average reader should be able to comprehend your article. By the same token, your article should not be written for the average reader.
- Articles should be topic or issue based. Stay away from “thumbs up, thumbs down” criticism.
- We want intelligent pieces, but are not looking for overly academic topics and jargon.
- Apocalyptic perspectives (new, innovative, uncomfortable) are most welcome.
Some more things to know:
- Articles must be your own original work.
- Articles and reviews may be edited for length. Some minor edits may also be made for punctuation and grammar. If your article requires more serious work, we will let you know!
- No profanity, please.
- You retain all rights to your article.
- We do not offer payment at this time.
- If selected for publication, you will be asked to include a bio.
- You are welcome to include links in your bio and/or footer of article linking back to your own blog or website.
- Pseudonyms and avatars are fine, especially if used as a critical tool to approach the film from a sharply particular perspective (e.g. an eco-terrorist perspective on Lord of the Rings). We promise we will not pass your identity to Uwe Boll.
