The Men Who Stare At Goats

Culling from research into 30 years of oddball techniques in world policing by the U.S. military, The Men Who Stare at Goats , based on the book by Jon Ronson, mixes fact and fiction to promise a movie in which an intertitle claims, “more of this is true than you would believe.”

I discovered Ronson through his highly entertaining book, Them, in which Ronson describes his research and adventures personally infiltrating several fringe groups and organizations accused of conspiracy. Ronson has made a career, in his words, by telling “true tales of everyday craziness.” So I’m definitely curious.

Unfortunately, the trailer here gives me more than a feeling that this movie might be standard Hollywood schlock.
